Rachmaninoff Vespers

Excerpts from Rachmaninoff All-Night Vigil (Vespers)

Sunday, February 7, 2027 at 5:00pm

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine

Concert Duration: 30 minutes

FREE ADMISSION

One of the crown jewels of the Russian choral repertoire, Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil — known as the Vespers — receives a special, intimate performance in one of New York’s most awe-inspiring spaces under the baton of OSNY Associate Conductor, David Rosenmeyer. Join us at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine for a short 5 p.m. concert featuring excerpts from this deeply spiritual masterwork, whose soaring a cappella harmonies seem made for sacred stone walls. Rich with the colors of the Orthodox liturgical tradition, the Vespers is music that stills the room and fills the soul. A perfect winter evening concert — brief, beautiful, and unforgettable.
