SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR THE ORATORIO SOCIETY OF NEW YORK

Since 1873, the Oratorio Society of New York has been thrilling audiences with its performances of traditional and contemporary choral music. Ticket sales alone do not cover the cost of producing these memorable performances. The Society also relies on the generosity of its friends.

The Society’s concert season includes four concerts. It performs at Carnegie Hall and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Ticket sales provide only 40% of the cost of these concerts.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION HELPS SUSTAIN THE SOCIETY’S COMMITMENT TO MUSICAL EXCELLENCE THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.

It also provides financial assistance to chorus members who cannot afford the costs of membership and music, and funds outreach programs to foster the next generation’s involvement in choral music

Lyndon Woodside
Oratorio-Solo Competition

The Lyndon Woodside Oratorio-Solo Competition is the only competition dedicated to the art of oratorio singing. In celebration of the competition’s fortieth anniversary, Friends of the Solo Competition was created for people who care passionately about the future of oratorio performances and who want to encourage promising young oratorio soloists. Contributing to the Friends of the Solo Competition fund is an investment in the future of the majesty and splendor of choral music.

The Woodside Circle

The Woodside Circle was established in memory of the Society’s long-time director, Lyndon Woodside. Joining the Woodside Circle with a three-year commitment makes you a member of a community that tangibly ensures the continuing success of the Oratorio Society of New York. Woodside Circle contributions enable the Society to engage in long-range planning, produce innovative programs, sponsor programs to provide financial support and coaching experience to young professionals, produce recordings, and more.

During the concert season, Woodside Circle members are invited to participate in special events such as an annual dinner, an end of season party, and special tours and performances. When the chorus performs abroad, the Woodside Circle hosts a reception for current and prospective members. Click here to join.
